As per an Article published by Times of India. 50% CBSE Students are opting for State Board after Class XIth, reason being Students score higher marks in State Board Syllabus Exams thereby increasing their chances of getting admission in better Colleges. The number of CBSE students applying for state Board schools has been steadily increasing. CBSE and State Board Syllabus are similar.
Otherwise CBSE is
---Most recognized board in India
---Developing student's application skills and problem solving abilities in CBSE.
---All major national level examinations conducted by CBSE.
---many course options available in CBSE.
On the other hand ICSE is more practical and concept oriented with more lab work and practicals. CICSE affiliated schools are present in Dubai, Sharjah, Indonesia and Singapore. You might find it difficult to find private tuition for ICSE subjects. For engineering seats, ICSE students have to write various entrance exams for admissions to various universities across India. Hope the above information makes it easier to make a decision.

CBSE and State board is recognized by Indian Government while ICSE is not. Although ICSE is recognised by Colleges/Universities in India. ICSE is much more difficult than CBSE/State Board because it's more detailed. CBSE/State Board focus more on Science and Maths, while ICSE has equal focus on arts, language and science. CBSE/State Board evaluation and assessment of students is completely different than ICSE. ICSE has internal assessment and conducts more practical Tests. It will be difficult to find tutors for ICSE, but cities like Mumbai, etc will be easy to find. If you plan to settle your Child abroad, then ICSE is a good option.
Comparing, CBSE and State Board - State Board has its State Language as a Compulsory Subject. It will be easier to find Tutor for State Board. CBSE has a common syllabus all across India, so if the child travels anywhere in India from one state to another, the syllabus will be the same. CBSE syllabus is more scientific based, while State board syllabus emphasis practical implications of the subject matter. CBSE students might get some edge on National Entrance Exams.
